Busted Top Candles began with a simple idea: beautiful bottles deserve a second life. What started as a personal project — turning our own collection of meaningful wine bottles into handcrafted candles quickly grew into a passion for sustainability, craftsmanship, and connection.
Every candle we pour is made from 100% soy wax, premium fragrance oils, and bottles that once held someone’s favorite wine, celebration, or memory. Today, we partner with wineries across California to transform their used tasting room bottles into elegant, long‑burning candles that customers love to take home.

What We Do

We specialize in repurposing wine bottles into premium, handcrafted candles for both wineries and individual customers. By cutting, sanding, and polishing each bottle by hand, we create a smooth, refined vessel that feels as good as it looks. Each candle burns cleanly for approximately 60 hours and carries a scent profile designed to complement the wine experience.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Busted Top Candles partners with wineries to transform used tasting room bottles into premium, handcrafted candles. Instead of sending empty bottles to recycling for about ten cents each, wineries can repurpose them through BTC and receive an $8–$10 return per bottle — often more depending on volume and customization.

Our model turns what would be waste into a high‑value retail product, creating a new revenue stream while supporting sustainability goals. Each candle becomes a meaningful keepsake that allows customers to relive the experience of their visit — the wine they loved, the celebration they shared, or the memories made at the winery.
